PETALUMA — Woodruff-Sawyer and Company, a privately owned independent insurance brokerage, joined the North Bay Leadership Council.

Don Chigazola, chairman of the council and director at Medtronic CardioVascular based in Santa Rosa, said, “We welcome this nationally top-ranked insurance broker of choice for companies in a variety of industries — they will make a great addition to our membership.”

Woodruff-Sawyer has been in operation for 90 years, and is headquartered in San Francisco with an office in Novato.

Tom Hughes, vice president, North Bay Construction Risk Management Group, will be the representative member and Jim Settles, senior vice president and partner, North Bay Benefits Practice Leader, is the alternate.

Mr. Hughes said, “We are excited about joining NBLC because we want to be active in helping shape public policy in the North Bay and participate in NBLC’s efforts to improve regional prosperity.”

Mr. Settles said the goals of the council are closely aligned with that of Woodruff-Sawyer:  economic vitality, improving education, leadership, and sustainable communities.
