Santa Rosa Memorial gets county trauma center contract extension

SANTA ROSA — The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today approved an eight-year extension contract of Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital’s contract as a level II trauma center.
The current contract ends in May.
The contract with the Sonoma County Department of Health Services includes a provision that would renew the contract from 2018 to 2022.
“Trauma care is a key component of the health care delivery system,” Health Services Director Rita Scardaci said in statement.
The hospital first was designated a level II trauma center in 2000, when the partnership with the Coastal Valley EMS Agency was formed.
Santa Rosa Memorial’s trauma center, which serves Sonoma, Mendocino and Napa Counties, treats an annual average of 1,450 patients with serious or life-threatening injuries, according to hospital officials.
