GREENBRAE – The Marin Healthcare District announced veteran cardiologist Joel Sklar as the new chief medical officer as it rounds out its staff before reclaiming control of Marin General Hospital from Sutter Health.
Dr. Sklar will act as a consultant leading up to the transition and will then take on the role of chief medial officer in late June. Prior to joining the district, he was assistant clinical professor of medicine at UCSF School of Medicine and has practiced medicine in Marin since 1982, the district said.
Dr. Sklar will be responsible for medical quality and medical staff relations at Marin General.
