GREENBRAE – Marin General Hospital was designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology and received accreditation from the American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC).
Recognized centers of excellence have undergone peer-review evaluations to confirm they adhere to high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control and assurance procedures.
Marin General is one of 11 centers in California that have earned the NAPBC designation. To qualify, the center must meet requirements such as referring only to Board-certified specialist, using patient navigators, offering strong patient education and support, palliative care and survivorship programs and meeting stringent requirements for equipment, continuing education and research.
