Public Media Works taps former Redbox, McDonald's executive

New president to lead 2011 rollout of disc rental kiosks

SAUSALITO -- DVD rental kiosk maker Public Media Works Inc. (Bulletin Board: PUBM) announced today that Greg Waring, a former executive with McDonald's Corp. and Redbox Automated Retail, has taken on the role as president and chief operating officer.

Chief Marketing Officer Bill Zabit had been serving as interim president.

Mr. Waring was vice president of marketing for Redbox for four years, leaving in 2007. During his time there, the company increased the number of locations for its automated DVD rental kiosks from 100 to 4,500, according to Public Media Works.

Before Redbox, Mr. Waring held various roles with McDonald's over 11 years, lastly as a senior director and director of business development for the company's Global Digital Innovation Group.

Public Media Works subsidiary EntertainmentXpress Inc. next year is rolling out a network of conveniently located self-service kiosks, which deliver demographically relevant digital media content to consumers.

The company's closing stock price was $1.05 a share, a decrease of 20 cents a share, or 16 percent, from the closing price Monday.
