SAN RAFAEL -- Bradley Real Estate, one of the North Bay's largest home brokerages, is under new leadership after founder and CEO Melissa Bradley announced her retirement Wednesday.

Company President Robert Bradley is now CEO in what was described as a planned transition. Ms. Bradley, his wife, will remain involved in the company as board chairwoman.

“I love the people and love what I created, but I am thrilled to hand over all the responsibility to my very capable and talented husband,”  Ms. Bradley wrote on her new blog, MarinMomma.com. “In fact, he really has been doing the job of CEO for sometime now. So it was time for me to get real and give up my title. I am so happy to be spending most of my time with my 3 children and my 2-year-old baby.”

Mr. Bradley, a licensed attorney and real estate broker, served as president of the company since 2004. During his eight years as president, the brokerage as grown from two to 11 offices in Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties and from 50 agents and employees to more than 400.

The brokerage ranked No. 3 on the Business Journal's list of the largest North Bay residential real estate brokerages.
