Nonprofit & Community Organizations

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma raised $120,000 for youth groups though its Sonoma Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.

Three Sonoma County programs received achievement awards from the National Association of Counties July 24-29. The groups include Circles Across Sonoma, a program of the Sonoma County Probation Department, Sonoma County Department of Health's Health Action council and Sonoma County General Services Department, Energy & Sustainability Division's Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Sustainability Initiatives.

Rodney Strong Vineyards celebrated its 50th anniversary June 27 with a celebration at owner Tom Klein's home.

Calistoga-based Frank Family Vineyards owner Rich Frank and his son Paul Frank are producing a television series called "Royal Pains" on the USA Network.
