North Bay Association of Realtors names Gorsiski president; other North Bay professionals news

REAL ESTATE

Pacific Union International Real Estate noted three North Bay employees were among a group to receive professional and community recognition.

Diana Gorsiski, based in Pacific Union's Petaluma office, has become president of the North Bay Association of Realtors after serving as a board member of NorBAR for the past five years. Gorsiski is also a director of the California Association of Realtors.

Stefan Jezycki, of Pacific Union's Napa office, was named 2016 Realtor of the Year for the Napa Chapter of Realtors.

Blaine Morris, based in Pacific Union's Kentfield office, was recently named Marin's Realtor of the Year. The group cited his service to the Marin Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.

BANKING AND FINANCE

Heather Pelant, a former BlackRock managing director who previously headed the firm's direct to consumer business, has joined Baker Street Advisors as managing director. In addition, long-tenured Baker Street professional Wendy Umphrey is newly promoted to managing director. Both women will join the firm's management committee.

Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. and Addison Avenue Investment Services, the investment services division of First Tech Federal Credit Union, announced that financial adviser Laura Pedroncelli was named 87th on the Bank Investment Consultant's Top 100 Advisor list.

­COMMUNICATIONS

Marx Group, an automotive industry research, strategy and marketing communications agency, has announced the promotion of Steffanie Savine to vice president, sales and accounts. Most recently serving as marketing director and account executive, Savine has been a part of Marx Group since 2013.

She is a member of Women in Auto Care, formerly the Car Care Council Women's Board, and the immediate past president of the Automotive Communications Council. She served a one year term as council president from 2015 to 2016. Savine has served on the council's board of governors since 2014 and in her current board role she is communications track chair.

Savine earned her bachelor of arts degree in communications, with a major in public relations, from Wayne State University, located in Detroit.

EDUCATION

The Pacific Union College Board of Trustees confirmed Brandon C. Parker as the college's new vice president for financial administration. Parker, an alumnus of PUC, assumed his new role Jan. 9.

A former vice president and chief financial officer for St. Helena Hospital, Napa Valley, Parker is a certified public accountant with over 20 years of experience in finance and operations. Earlier leadership appointments have included Mendocino regional vice president and chief financial officer at Adventist Health and others.

GOVERNMENT

Santa Rosa's new water director will start work on March 6. The city stated it has hired Bennett Horenstein. He served as the director of the Wastewater Department for the East Bay Municipal Utility District and earlier, worked for the city of Los Angeles.

Horenstein holds a bachelor of science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida, is a registered professional engineer, and holds a Wastewater Operator, Grade V Certification.

Horenstein is currently a board member of both the National Association of Clean Water Agencies and the Bay Area Clean Water Agencies, and is the chair of the Utility Leadership.

HEALTH CARE

Neema Pourtaheri, M.D., board-certified orthopedic surgeon has recently joined Santa Rosa Orthopedic Medical Group, a team of 10 board certified and fellowship-trained surgeons offering comprehensive orthopedic care.

Marin Community Clinics stated it has recruited five new clinicians during the months of October, November and December 2016. They are David Hill, M.D., cardiologist; Sagar Vaidya, M.D., volunteer infectious disease specialist; Amelia Bauman, C.N.M., certified nurse midwife; Michelle Cohen, F.N.P., family nurse practitioner; and Anita Kris, D.D.S.

A not-for-profit federally qualified health center, the clinic has clinicians, other staff and volunteers who provide care in nine clinics at six sites across Marin.

Norair “Nor” Jemjemian has been named senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente's Napa–Solano service area.

Jemjemian brings with him more than 23 years of hospital, health plan and medical group management experience, including 21 years with Kaiser Permanente in Southern California.

HOSPITALITY

3 Badge Beverage Corporation of Sonoma announced the hiring of Donald Morse as southwest regional manager for its wine division, 3 Badge Enology. Morse is based in Dallas and is responsible for Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arkansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Prior to joining 3 Badge Enology he was the regional manager for Vina San Pedro, covering its southern U.S. region. Earlier in his career he was district sales manager for Republic National Distributing Company. Now he will be working with brands such as Leese-Fitch, Plungerhead, Moobuzz, The White Knight and Gehricke.

Brookfield Hotel Properties announced the appointment of Kini Sanborn as director of sales and marketing of The Vintage Estate, comprised of The Vintage Inn and Villagio Inn & Spa, located in Yountville.

Sanborn joins The Vintage Estate following nearly four years as director of Sales and Marketing at Bardessono Hotel & Spa, also in Yountville. Prior to this role, Sanborn held the same positions at both Pan Pacific Hotel Group and MTM Luxury Lodging, both in Seattle.

LAW

Friedemann Goldberg LLP announced the addition of Casey J. Edmondson of Santa Rosa to the firm as an associate attorney. He will be practicing in the areas of litigation, business law, and banking law. Edmondson is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law. Prior to attending law school, he graduated summa cum laude from UCLA. In addition to his duties as an associate attorney, Edmondson serves as a planning commissioner with the city of Santa Rosa.

NONPROFITS

Audubon Canyon Ranch announced the selection of Naomi Sultana Young to serve as director of development. According to the ranch, Young has worked for a variety of Bay Area organizations, most recently leading development efforts for the international environmental group, the Story of Stuff Project. ACR is a system of nature preserves spanning 26 properties in Marin, Sonoma and Lake counties.

WINE

Jordan Winery in Healdsburg has recently promoted two employees.

Maribel Soto has been promoted to director of Jordan Estate Rewards, winery's club. Soto, who had served as assistant guest services manager, has a degree from Santa Rosa Junior College's Wine Business and Marketing program and previously worked at Catholic Charities Diocese of Santa Rosa.

Soto joined Jordan in 2007 as a concierge and helped launch the rewards program a year later. It now has more than 12,000 members.

Claire Smith has been promoted to guest services manager. She had most recently served as a wine educator. She joined Jordan in 2009 and first worked as a guest services associate, hosting tours and tastings.

Before Jordan, she worked as a wine educator at Copia in Napa.
