JHL Commercial Properties hired Kim Anenson Nicol, RPA, as its new property manager. Ms. Nicol is a licensed real estate broker and has also earned the professional designation of “RPA” (Real Property Administrator) awarded by the Building Owners and Managers Association. She comes to JHL with over 20 years experience in commercial property management and has been responsible for the management of over 2 million square feet of commercial office, retail, medical and industrial space throughout her career. She will be focusing on managing properties for JHL in Napa, Solano and Sonoma counties.Economic Development

Sonoma County BEST (Building Economic Success Together) selected Mike Purvis as chairman of the board. Mr. Purvis, chief administrative officer at Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa, takes the reins from former board chairman, Randy DeCaminada of PG&E. Mr. Purvis’s experience in developing and guiding the strategic direction of Sutter Health was cited as a key reason for his selection for steering Sonoma Country’s first regional economic development initiative. Replacing Mr. DeCaminada on the board will be Joshua Townsend, who is the economic development manager for Pacific Gas & Electric.Health Care

Mark J. Popovich, M.D., a specialist in diagnostic radiology, joined Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation, part of the Sutter Health network recently. Dr. Popovich, a board-certified radiologist, holds a medical degree from the University of Southern California. He completed an internship and a residency at Kaiser Foundation Hospital of Los Angeles, and a fellowship at the University of California San Francisco Graduate Medical Education Office. Dr. Popovich’s office is located at 2449 Summerfield Rd. in Santa Rosa.Law

Scott Greenwood-Meinert has joined Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty in the firm’s business department at its Napa office. Prior to joining Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty, Mr. Greenwood-Meinert was with the business department of Gaw Van Male. Mr. Greenwood-Meinert has been in practice since 1996. Mr. Greenwood-Meinert’s business practice focuses on complex business transactions, entity formation, loan workouts, entity restructuring, investing and related lending issues. His real estate practice focuses on transactions, development, land use, environmental mitigation banks, commercial and agricultural leasing, energy-related leasing, financing, easements as well as a variety of regulatory matters. Nonprofits

Redwood Empire Food Bank hired Cate Steane as director of development. Ms. Steane brings 17 years of nonprofit leadership experience to the position. She joins the Food Bank from the Family Emergency Shelter Coalition in Hayward, where she was executive director. Ms. Steane’s fundraising leadership at FESCO included major donor cultivation, increased community and foundation support, and legacy giving program development. Previously, she served as director of operations for Rubicon Programs, a social service and social enterprise nonprofit based in Richmond . She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College and law degree from Yale Law School.Marketing

Windy Swindt Fernandes has been promoted to project manager at Boylan Point Agency in Santa Rosa. This is her second promotion within the agency since being hired as a marketing assistant in 2008. She works directly with business owners to create and carry out multimedia marketing and advertising campaigns while managing Boylan Point’s web development, graphics and sales staff. Ms. Fernandes also serves as vice president of marketing on Schools Plus’ board of directors.Residential Real Estate

The Lares Team (Alison Johnson and Lisa Combs) have joined with Wine Country Group Santa Rosa. Both Ms. Combs and Ms. Johnson hold a California Brokers Licenses and both worked in banking for most of their careers. They have been focusing their full time attention to real estate sales for the past 5 years.Wine

St. Helena-based Wilson Daniels hired Phil Pyrce as vice president of marketing and brand management of its Italian portfolio, including brands such as Bibi Graetz, Castello di Volpaia, Ceretto, Prelius and Tenuta di Biserno. He brings over 20 years of marketing and business strategy experience to Wilson Daniels. He began his career at Helene Curtis in Chicago before earning his MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern. He was director of marketing at Terlato Wines International, marketing director for luxury brands at Treasury Wine Estates and, most recently, director of marketing & sales at Titus Vineyards.

Angwin-based Ladera Vineyards hired Natalie Bullion as the winery's new director of consumer sales and hospitality. Most recently, Ms. Bullion has held wine club and hospitality positions at Astrale e Terra and Sawyer Cellars. Previously, she worked as a sales representative for Glazer’s. Her career in the wine industry started after a wine-making elective at Texas A&M piqued her interest in the science of wine. After graduation, she moved to the Napa Valley to work in the lab and cellar with wine production.
