SANTA ROSA -- Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation today said seven new physicians have joined the radiology department of its brand-new Advanced Imaging Center and Breast Center and Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa.
The new physicians will provide services for patients treated at the $10 million imaging center, which opened at 3883 Airway Drive earlier this year and which is equipped with powerful advanced imaging technology, including an iPad-controlled MRI environment that allows patients to personalize their experience through music, lighting and visuals.
The radiologists have advanced training in breast imaging, musculoskeletal radiology, cardiothoracic imaging, neuroradiology and interventional radiology. The Caring MRI Suite is not available elsewhere in the region. The new radiologists are:
Linda Casey, MD, a board-certified diagnostic radiologist who received her medical degree from Emory University Medical School and completed a radiology residency at Georgetown University. Dr. Casey has extensive experience in oncologic imaging, including PET-CT, MRI and breast imaging.
Paul A. Doemeny, MD, a board-certified diagnostic radiologist who received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Doemeny completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He also completed a transitional internship at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital and a diagnostic radiology residency at UC Irvine Medical Center.
Bradley H. Restel, MD, a board-certified diagnostic radiologist who received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. Dr. Restel completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at Duke University Medical Center. He completed an internship at University of California, San Diego, and a residency at Duke University Medical Center.
Anthony M. Sajewicz, MD, a board-certified diagnostic radiologist who received his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Sajewicz completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic imaging at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed a residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and an internship at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Gretchen Smith, MD, a board-certified diagnostic radiologist who received her medical degree from University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Smith completed a diagnostic radiology residency and breast imaging fellowship at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University. She completed an internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center.
Two more radiologists will be on-site in September. They are:
Scott Booth, MD, a board-certified radiologist who received his medical degree at Saint Louis University. Dr. Booth completed an internship and residency in diagnostic radiology at Travis Air Force Base.
Jesse R. Rael, MD, a board-certified radiologist who received his medical degree from University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Rael completed an internship and residency in general surgery at Louisiana State University Medical Center as well as a pathology and radiology residency at Louisiana State University Medical Center. He also completed a radiology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a fellowship in combined neuroradiology and interventional radiology at University of New Mexico School of Medicine.
Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation, affiliated with Sutter Health, has more than 250 doctors throughout San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Lake and Del Norte counties. In the North Bay, the medical foundation has grown itself significantly, from 81 providers in 2008, to 110 in 2010, to 123 at present, across 21 specialties.
