Ahnfeldt Wines

Garrett Ahnfeldt, vineyard manager

In 1985, the Ahnfeldt’s planted vineyards in the eastern hills of the Napa Valley. Originally selling the fruit to some of the Valley’s prestigious wineries, they eventually started their own label in 2002, Ahnfeldt Wines. Ahnfeldt’s main responsibilities are in vineyard management. He also started his own wine project “G Wine Cellars.”

Arkenstone

Located on the western shoulder of Howell Mountain, Arkenstone rises from 1400 feet to over 1650 feet of elevation. Rootstocks, clones and varietals were carefully selected to match the widely varied soils, slopes and exposures found at Arkenstone. Operating as a true family domaine, Arkenstone is focused on continually making well balanced, Bordeaux-inspired small production wine from our 15 planted acres. Jake Krausz has been involved in the family business on and off since the beginning and came back full time in 2010 as Arkenstone’s estate director and in-house Sommelier.

Bonded Winery #9

Since 1904, the Pelissa family has been growing grapes in Napa Valley. In 1993, the family opened Napa Wine Company as a place to produce their own wines as well as provide a home for other vintners to grow their brands. Currently, Bonded Winery #9 portfolio offers three brands: Ghost Block, Oakville Winery, and Elizabeth Rose, that reflect all aspects of the family’s vineyards. Broman Cellars

Broman Cellars is a lifelong dream realized by Bob Broman after he spent 31 years making wine for other wineries. In 1994, he and his wife Deborah released 150 cases of their first Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Today Broman Cellars is a family passion, with daughter Lisa handling sales, marketing, events and important daily operations. Production is now a whopping 1,300 cases consisting of ultra-premium, handcrafted lots of cabernet sauvignon, syrah and sauvignon blanc.

Burgess Cellars was founded in 1972 at a historic stone winery overlooking the Napa Valley. The original winery dates back to the 1800s and is still in use today. We are family-owned-and-operated and are about to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Next generation Steven Burgess was born in 1972 during Burgess’ first harvest and returned to the winery in 2005. Frias Family Vineyard

Fernando Frias and Manny Frias, vineyards and operations managers

Frias Family Vineyards was founded by Manuel Frias Sr. with its first official vintage in 1991. The family purchased 100 acres on Spring Mountain in 1977 and planted only five acres to vineyards in 1985. Our wine is about highlighting differences and enjoying a slice of life. Frias produces only the finest estate-grown cabernet sauvignon with a smaller production of other varietals. Hill Family Estate

Hill Family Estate has been making wine since 2001. Patriarch Doug Hill has been growing grapes in the Napa Valley since 1980 and started making wine after his son Ryan expressed an interest in winemaking. Today, Hill Family Estate produces 6,000 cases of wine and operates a tasting room in downtown Yountville. Ryan Hill is director of sales and marketing and resides in Yountville with his wife Nicole and dog Teddy.

Hoopes Family Vineyard is run by a father-daughter team: Spencer and Lindsay Hoopes. As of May 2013, Lindsay Hoopes, second generation proprietor, has taken over all operations and general management of the vineyard and winery. Previously a successful attorney, Lindsay Hoopes’ background includes working as an assistant district attorney in San Francisco and international operations – logistics manager for Pottery Barn. Along the way, she became fluent in Spanish and Chinese. Lindsay brings her own perspective and skills to move the company into the next generation of Hoopes Family Wines. Always with a lifelong passion for wine, Lindsay has returned to her roots in wine country and the wine business.

Marston Family Vineyard

Marston Family Vineyard is a hidden gem on Spring Mountain in Napa Valley. The winery produces a limited amount of hand-cultivated cabernet sauvignon each year. Liz Leahy is one of the founding members of NG: The Next Generation in Wine. She manages the daily operations of her family’s winery, and with her brother John also created ElizabethJohn wines. Prior to joining the family winery, she had a career in publishing in Manhattan, and truly believes that wine and literature are two of life’s greatest pleasures.

James Leahy runs the viticulture side of the family vineyard and winery and enjoys working closely with our team in the cellar. He is carrying on the family tradition of our commitment to the Spring Mountain Appellation and is currently president of the AVA.

Monticello Vineyards

So it was not long before we planted our first cabernet sauvignon field and started our adventure in wine. After many years of enjoying the fruits of our labor in others’ wines, we made the family decision to start our own production. As with all family businesses, it is all hands on deck. Ron and Roberta run the day-to-day operations, while Ryan is our go to IT guy. Ron Jr. has the distinct job of compliance, leaving hospitality and sales and wine club to Rebecca. Limited to what Mother Nature provides us each year, our production is around 40 barrels a year.

Found in 1968, Trefethen is one of Napa’s classic wine estates. Loren and Hailey Trefethen are the children of John and Janet Trefethen and the third generation to bring the family’s passion to Trefethen. Loren, a graduate of Stanford University, has a particular focus on promoting direct and export sales of Trefethen wines. Hailey, a graduate of Santa Clara University, spends half her time representing the family and the winery around the USA. The other half of her time is spent working closely with the production and vineyard teams.

Trinitas Cellars is a small family-owned winery located in Napa. Trinitas sources a broad range of varietals from the regions where climate and soil conditions are most favorable for each specific varietal. Anthony Truchard II serves as the general manager for Truchard Vineyards. Anthony grew up running between vines and climbing on tractors. However, his studies took him to Southern California, where he graduated with degrees in philosophy and biology from the University of California Santa Barbara. Subsequently, Anthony decided to pursue his interest in the law and received a degree from Cardozo School of Law in New York City. Throughout his studies he continued to develop his wine knowledge by working and managing local boutique wine shops and restaurants. He practiced intellectual property law for several years before returning to the family winery.

Yates Family Vineyard

The Yates Family Vineyard is located on the slopes of Mount Veeder in the Napa Valley. The 35 acres of steep, hillside vineyards were replanted by the Yates’ family in the early 1980s to cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and cabernet franc.
