Napa Valley’s Cuvaison Estate Wines has hired Scott McLeod as consulting winemaker and Kelly Maher as consulting viticulturist.

It owns the Cuvaison winery in the Carneros region and the Brandlin Vineyard, a Mount Veeder winery. It will celebrate its 50th anniversary in business next year.

The company also is replanting Cuvaison’s 200-acre Carneros estate, unveiling new branding and packaging for Cuvaison, upgrading its website and making significant investments in its winemaking and hospitality programs for both wineries.

McLeod spent three years making wine in Italy before serving as director of winemaking for 18 years at Rubicon Estate Winery in Rutherford. In 2009, he was honored as “Winemaker of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast magazine.

Maher worked six years as director of vineyard operations at Domaine Chandon and started his own consulting company in 2002, working with local wineries such as Futo Wines, Dunn Vineyards and Hourglass as well as those in Australia, Argentina and France.

Suzanne Knowlton has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing and communications at Redwood Credit Union.

She had served as marketing manager at RCU since 2014. The credit union stated she has more than 19 years of experience in marketing management with companies such as Lowepro, Blurb Inc. and O’Reilly Media.

Knowlton holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University Sacramento and was recently part of the 2018 graduating class of Western CUNA Management school, a program that helps develop and prepare credit union leaders to meet the challenges of the future.

Santa Rosa Medical Center chief audiologist Christy Cooper, of Windsor, has been appointed to the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.

Cooper, who started her career at Kaiser Permanente in 2009, is co-chair of the Kaiser Permanente National Audiology Work Group, audiology lead of the Kaiser Permanente Head and Neck Surgery Technology Committee and regional chair of Kaiser Permanente, Northern California Audiology.

She earned a Doctor of Audiology degree from Towson University, in Baltimore.

Kelly Howell has been appointed to the role of South Central division manager; and Gerry Catanzano, to the role of Northeast division manager at Terravant Wine Company.

Howell was most recently vice president of sales for strategic and national accounts at Purple Wine + Spirits, where she was responsible for domestic and international sales for exclusive brands and national accounts. She also worked at Napa’s Canopy Management, now part of Vintage Wine Estates, and held multiple positions with Foster’s Wine Estates including vice president national accounts on-premise.

Catanzano has worked as Northeast divisional manager for Mendocino Wine Company before leaving to join Three Badge Enology, where he oversaw 12 states within the Northeast region.
